What is a Rhinoplasty?
A rhinoplasty is sometimes referred to as a "nose job". This is a type of procedure that alters the appearance and sometimes function of the nose (improving breathing) to help a patient feel more secure and confident in their body.
The upper portion of the structure of the nose is bone, and the lower portion is cartilage. Rhinoplasty can change bone, cartilage, skin or all three. Talk with one of our plastic surgeons about your overall goals to be sure it's right for you.
Who is an Ideal Candidate for Rhinoplasty's?
The best candidate for a rhinoplasty is someone who doesn't like the way their nose looks and has been troubled by one or more of it's features. Often this is a nose that appears too large, or droops or has a prominent bump on top. Others seek treatment after an injury or when they develop trouble breathing through the nose.
Expectations are important in what makes a good rhinoplasty candidate. The best nasal surgery candidates simply want to improve the appearance of their nose but do not want to seek perfection. The ideal candidates are well adjusted and otherwise happy with their lives and do not expect a rhinoplasty to transform them into someone else.
What are the Benefits of Rhinoplasty's?
The benefits of a rhinoplasty are improved self confidence and improved functionality of the nose. Some of the issues rhinoplasty can help deal with are breathing, chronically stuffy nose, boosting your energy and improved sleep quality.
