Dr. Walter Sweeney attended the United States Air Force Academy and subsequently proudly served in the Air Force. He received his medical degree from the Cleveland Clinic and completed his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, one of the premier plastic surgery training institutions. He has published numerous articles keeping on the cutting edge of plastic surgery.
